Guidelines for Cultural performances *
Each performer can participate in a maximum of 1 performance. This excludes fashion show.
No solo performances allowed.
Minimum number of participants in group performance is 3.
Please note the following max durations:
3-4 participants: 4 mins
5-8 participants: 6 mins
8+ participants : 10 mins
20+ participants: 15 mins
*The guidelines do not apply to accompaniments like tabla, Harmonium if they are playing for different groups.

Is dinner free with membership? Unfortunately not at this time.
Is snacks free? Yes it is free for members
How many tickets I can buy? Depends on the membership tier, as an example: if you have a family membership, you can buy 2 adults and 3 kids ticket. If you got a couple membership, you can only buy 2 adults ticket. If you got a student or Individual membership, you can buy 1 ticket.
Can I transfer my ticket? No
Is my membership refundable? No
Will I be getting reusable bag in all events? No
Will I be getting festive box? Yes
If I move, Can I get my membership prorated? Membership is Annual
Will the ticket prices change for the next event? We do not know at this time as it is event specific, but you will still get the 40% discount.

FAQs:
What is the registrations process? Registrations are now closed.
Can children participate? Due to legal and liability reasons, this tournament is open only for adults (18+).
Can a female player participate? Yes.
Should all the players be Kannadigas, Kannada speaking or from Karnataka? No.
How do I make payment? Zelle to Portlandkannadakoota@gmail.com
Why only 2 teams? Due to the number of registered players.
What are names of the 2 teams? Powerstar Cricketers & Power Hitters.
Is there any dress code for players? No.
How are captain, vice-captain and others chosen? Once the team/players are formed, we encourage you to discuss and choose roles for different players.
Can I switch teams after registration? A player can be exchanged by teams by mutual agreement. Roster needs to be locked by 08/13.
Can we change team's name? Yes. Please have the captain reach to us with the request.
Will there be awards for winners? All players of the winning and runners up team will be awarded trophiies and medals respectively, that they can keep. Winning team will receive a rolling trophy at the presentation ceremony that needs to be returned to Koota post the celebrations. Additionally, there will be best bowler, best batsman, best fielder, most valuable player and man of the match awards for individual games.
What additional items should be purchased by players? We encourage players to purchase and use their own supporters.
Will water be provided during games? Yes.

Performance Guidelines
All Mentors and participants have to be registered.
Max 2 performances allowed per participant.
Audition for emcee will be conducted.
Movie songs picked for performances should be festival or Karnataka culture appropriate.
For stand up comedy - hurting personal feelings not allowed.
Rehearsals mandatory prior to final performance.
Performance should be in a group of 4 people or more. No solo performances allowed.
Those who have signed up to be mentors, should be willing to mentor registered participants.
Each performance should be performed in a given time frame.
Group song (3 - 5 minutes)
Group Dance (5 - 7 minutes)
Skit (10 -15 minutes)
Instrumental ( 7- 10 minutes)
Stand up comedy (10 to 15 minutes)

KANNADOTHSAVA
New team, new ideas and a totally exciting in person event is being planned. We are super excited to celebrate the KANNADOTHSAVA with you all on November 6th at 4.30 PM at The Multnomah Art center, Portland OR.
We've come beyond the covid days and now is the time we all get together and have a gala time by celebrating Deepavali along with Kannada Rajyothsava. Let us celebrate kannadothsava with a MUSICAL FEAST by well known celebrities from Karnataka and programs from local kannadigas. We hope you're super excited as much as we are and hope to see you all at the event.
Community programs will be for an hour followed by Musical show from celebrity artists. At this time we would like to invite everyone to participate in the event. We would also like to call upon our talented people to mentor our lovely participants.
[As the new team was recently formed, it is a challenge for us to give 100% chance for the community to participate in cultural events, but we will not disappoint you with the quality of the program participating in other fields. We assure you to give you a chance in our upcoming koota programs.]
